I have read that there is a DNA test that reveals the breeds in my dog's genetic makeup.
I would like to know how to get her DNA tested?
I don't care what breed she is, I love her so much but I am just really curious.
She resembles some sort of german shepherd/bulldog/collie!!
Thanks!

I have been very curious to try one of these Dog DNA tests on both my dogs. Just out of curiosity and for fun. I have my ideas on what my dogs maybe but would really love to see if the test matches what we think they are. Has anyone used one of these tests and were the results what you expected or even remotely accurate?

Ok Ihave a female. There are two males. Carebear

Mommy is white. The pups look like both males.
Can they be offspring of both males?

It is possible to have canine DNA in our bodies whether it is injected or not? And what would be the outcome of our own body's health?

but wanted it to be anonymous incase any breeds came up that homeonwners insurance companies declare as being aggressive. Does anyone know how to go about doing this anonymously? I hear there may be a do-it-yourself kit that uses dog saliva that you mail off, but not sure how accurate they are.

Looking for an at home dog DNA test that is fairly accurate and not as expensive as veterinarian administered blood tests. The purpose of this test is out of curiosity and not necessity... Any input is appreciated...thank you for your help!

I have a rescue dog that looks like a full blooded American Bull Dog or one with a little Mastiff in her. At least 3 of her 10 puppies looked just like Mastiff puppies. I'd like to have her DNA tested, but I can't find a company that will test for that breed. Can you help?

Just curious, one of my dogs is a mix from a shelter, so we have no idea what he is except a little bit border collie. I don't think I would ever do it but I was wondering if anyone else has, it seems interesting to me that you could find out that kind of thing.
I posted pics, I wasn't going to but why not I guess.
And I did check around, it's like 0 and I don't care so like I said I wouldn't do it. Just wondering if anyone else has, geeeeez.

i've been looking at places online that do DNA testing to find out what breeds are in your dog because there is some question as to weather or not my husky has wolf in him but i can't find a company that will test for wolf. they test for tons of breeds but not wolf. i would think wolf would be easier to test for than specific breeds but i guess not. does anyone know of a company that can test for timber wolf?

The DNA remaining can't be DOG, because technically DOG doesn't exist. So what is that remaining 1%?

Do you need to be a member to get a dna test done by AKC? What exactly comes with the results? I know it cost 40 dollars but what else do i need to know.

We have a mutt and were curious in finding out what breeds she is made up of. I've heard of sending your dogs DNA to places to find out what they're made up of. I was wondering if someone can recommend a good place to do this, that's affordable and accurate. Has anyone else done this, and if so, what kind of results did you get?

I know there are at least two: Canine Heritage Breed test (cheek swab) by MetaMorphix, and Wisdom Panel MX (blood sample drawn by vet) by Mars Veterinary. I'm looking for someone who has actually done it and can say whether it's worth it or not. Thanks!

Just a curiosity question, I'm not a breeder.
Yep. I mean the in-store kits you can buy. The cotton swab test that you send in for analysis.
Yeah. I've heard many people get rediculous results. I wonder what would happen if I did a swab of my own mouth and sent it in...

I have been reading a lot about the Wisdom Panel MX dog dna breed test. It is supposed to use a blood sample (better than cheek swab, i know that for a fact) and it can usually tell you the breed makeup of our mutts, usually pretty accurate. I am just checking to see if anyone on here has tried this brand, or any brand for that matter, and what their results were. Thanks. If you don't know what i'm talking about, it's wisdompanel dot com.
