DNA Fingerprinting is taking a specific portion of a persons DNA and sequencing it. This portion is unique for every single person (other than twins)
An example of its use would be in forensics. They would take a sperm cell for example, sequence that region of DNA and compare it to suspects. If the sperm and the suspect match, the sperm belongs to that person, and it can be very strong evidence in court
