Therefore, treating DNA with a series of highly specific restriction enzymes will generate specific &quot;maps&quot; (similar to fingerprints - different between everybody).

If a criminal leaves any body fluid or skin at a crime scene, the DNA content can be recovered and mapped as indicated above
