You can’t actually prove paternity without a DNA test, however if your father has a relative (like his parents or siblings) that will testify that your father confided in them that you were he child, this might work in a court of law. I had a friend (unmarried) and her two children did not have their father’s name on the birth certificate. When he was killed, she applied for Social Security for them and his mother came forward at the hearing and testified that he told her these were his children and my friend was approved for survivors benefits for these children.

1. If your parents were married, that would establish paternity.
2. If there is a court order establishing paternity.
3. If he and your mom signed a paternity declaration.
Those are three ways to establish paternity that I know about that do not require DNA.
