Summarize the way gel electrophoresis is used in DNA fingerprinting?

   DNA is cut into segments using a specific restriction enzyme that cuts along specific sequences. the pieces are then run through electrophoresis and the different sized segments separate and can be compared to another sample. if both samples have the same segments cut by the same restriction enzyme they are the same person
