I would like to know the places that I am from and I want to know the best Dna place out there. My great grandfathers died young and nothing much is really known about there side of the family (one comitted suicide, one fell off a telephone pole, etc). And also, do these tests trace you back to different countries or actual people? Thanks

We have a mutt and were curious in finding out what breeds she is made up of. I've heard of sending your dogs DNA to places to find out what they're made up of. I was wondering if someone can recommend a good place to do this, that's affordable and accurate. Has anyone else done this, and if so, what kind of results did you get?

my brother took a Y-DNA ancestry test and the markers used, STR's, will go back a certain amount of centuries. How far back do they go?

Some people believe that all Australian citezens should provide a sample of DNA so that a national database of fingerprints can be established.
What are your views on this and what do you think would be some pro's and con's?

I have been reading a lot about the Wisdom Panel MX dog dna breed test. It is supposed to use a blood sample (better than cheek swab, i know that for a fact) and it can usually tell you the breed makeup of our mutts, usually pretty accurate. I am just checking to see if anyone on here has tried this brand, or any brand for that matter, and what their results were. Thanks. If you don't know what i'm talking about, it's wisdompanel dot com.

My nephew thinks his ex girlfriend's new baby is his. She will not let him see the baby but won't tell him why. He has filed paperwork to have the child DNA tested but they are saying they can't find her! He knows the town she lives in but that's it. How can he get her address to have her served? In the mean time my nephew may be missing out on his son and or family is missing the first great grandchild! Please help

A breeder told me all of his dogs are AKC registered and the father is DNA registered. I looked online and it seems you can send in a test of the DNA for stud dogs but I couldn't tell if some were rejected. If it is DNA registered, what does that mean to me and more importantly its' puppies?

I plan on getting Adna test like the day my baby is born. I plan on mailing off the samples that day literally. So I just wanted to know if any of you have used online testing because the DNA places in Georgia are to expensive. So if any one had any good experiences or knows someone who has please let me know. Or if anyone knows a DNA place in Georgia thats not that expensive I would greatly appreciate it.

o.k. having just read a question re. registering a dog w/o paperwork, this came to mind...
now that you can have your dog's DNA tested do you think that will ever be allowed (10-15 yrs. from now) to get papers on a dog? don't really care. just after the ranting, thought i would throw it out there.

In the MRCA (most recent common ancestor) If the test says you have DNA in common with an ethnic group that samples were taken from one group in the United States(it's state specific) and the percentage was one of the higher percentages could you accurately assume the ancestry comes with in the past 200 years?
I've taken the test already. My family may be some tough cookies to convince of the results

1. African-Americans are mixture of the numerous African peoples. How can we be sure?
2. Can this truly be traced through male DNA
Actor Isaiah Washington said his ancestors are Sierra Leone and Angola assuming he got testing on his mother and father side.
Other black celebrities mentioned Ghana, Nigeria, and various other places.
Can it really be traced accurately?

My friend says that it is not good for German Shepherd Dogs to eat chicken - that a dislike for it is encoded in their DNA memory. She says whenever her dogs had a choice between chicken and beef or any other type of meat, they always refused the chicken. She says she read something about chicken not being good for them in a holistic dog book by Melissa Bartlett, as well as in other places. I would like to research this further.
