		<description>The FBI lab where the samples were sent is still drowning under a backlog of samples.  A year ago, it was 200,000 cases behind.  Even if only 5% of those cases are critical, that would mean that there are 10,000 cases ahead of this one.  Dept of Justice has undertaken steps to reduce the backlog, but I&#039;m not sure how effective they have been.

Late edit - I wouldn&#039;t call it a bureaucratic problem, but a technology issue.  The technology is useful and even a bit sexy.  This puts it in high demand, but there are just so many lab rats who are trained in its use.  Supply &amp; Demand strikes again...</description>
