The simple fact is that, based upon how busy the State crime lab is, things do not get done anywhere near as fast as it is on TV. It can take 8 months plus to get DNA results back on an item, longer if they need to use any specialized processes on it to recover the DNA. The time starts once things are sent off for analysis too so without knowing when it was sent in I can't say more.
